Summary: This IESEM International Diploma in Energy Management is designed to provide learners with the skills and knowledge required to competently oversee and conserve energy in various industrial contexts. The coursework is structured to instill a deep understanding of how to manage energy consumption effectively, with an emphasis on improving energy performance and integrating sustainable methods into daily operations. Eligibility Criteria:

  • Learners must be above 21 years.
  • Must Hold a Graduation or Equivalency Degree

QUALIFICATION STRUCTURE:

The IESEM International Diploma in Energy Management consists of 6 mandatory units for a combined total of 120 credits, 1200 hours of Total Qualification Time (TQT), and 600 Guided Learning Hours (GLH) for the completed qualification.

Module 1: Introduction to Energy Management

  • Understanding energy management and its importance.
  •  Overview of energy sources and their characteristics.
  • Global energy consumption patterns and trends.

Module 2: Energy Policy, Regulations, Energy Auditing and Analysis

  • Overview of energy-related policies and regulations.
  • Understanding carbon footprint and greenhouse gas emissions.
  • Implementing sustainable energy practices and reporting requirements.
  • Conducting energy audits and identifying energy-saving opportunities.
  • Analyzing energy consumption data and trends.
  • Developing energy baselines and benchmarks

Module 3: Energy Efficiency Technologies and Solutions

  • Exploring energy-efficient technologies and their applications.
  • Assessing the cost-effectiveness of energy-saving measures.
  • Implementing energy-efficient lighting, HVAC, and insulation systems

Module 4: Renewable Energy Sources and Integration

  • Introduction to renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, and biomass.
  • Evaluating the feasibility and cost-effectiveness of renewable energy projects.

Duration and Delivery:

The qualification will be flexible in its delivery to accommodate part-time and distance learning. The International Diploma in Energy Management program will typically span over 03 to 06 months, including classroom lectures, practical exercises, distance, and online.

Assessment and verification:

All units within this qualification are internally assessed by the Institute of Excellence for Sustainability and Environmental Management. To achieve a ‘pass’ for a unit, learners must provide evidence to demonstrate that they have fulfilled all the learning outcomes and meet the standards specified by all assessment criteria. The judgment that the learners have successfully fulfilled the assessment criteria is made by the Assessor.

The Assessor should provide an audit trail showing how the judgment of the learners’ overall achievement has been arrived at.
